Join our 6-Week Solution-Focused Parenting Group

It’s completely natural for a parent to worry about their child’s well-being, future, and the choices they make. Parenting is a journey filled with uncertainty, and no one wants their child to face hardship or struggle. If you’re feeling concerned about your child and if you’re sometimes worried that you are not the best parent you can be, I want you to know that you’re not alone, and many parents share these feelings.

Take a moment to reflect on the love and guidance you’ve given your child so far. Your care and attention make a difference, even if you can’t always see the impact immediately. Children may not always express it, but they notice your presence, your support, and the values you impart. It’s also okay to not have all the answers. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is show patience, listen with an open heart, and trust that they are learning and growing from both the successes and the challenges they face.

Parenting doesn’t mean doing everything on your own. Whether it’s seeking support and advice from friends, family, or professionals, reaching out when you’re feeling unsure or worried is a healthy way to handle and navigate through tough moments. It’s also helpful to connect when you want to strengthen the trust in yourself and the love you’re giving your child.

Our group provides space, where you can find practical strategies, positive support, and a sense of community on your parenting journey. It offers a unique approach that combines the power of solution-focused approach with the real-life challenges of raising children.

Over the course of six weeks, expect a supportive and nurturing space for you to learn, share, and grow as a parent. Each weekly session is designed to empower you, giving you the tools and confidence to navigate your way of parenting with more clarity and purpose. Join me and other parents for this transformative experience, and take away strategies that will help you thrive as a parent. And – bring your child/ren along!

Raising strong, confident kids requires strong, confident parents

Some questions you may have:

  • What makes this group different to any other groups for parents and children?

This group is not a baby class, playgroup or a casual social gathering for parents. It is a structured, professionally guided space designed for parents who are eager to grow, learn, and discover practical solutions that work for their families.

  • Is this similar to group therapy?

In some ways, yes. The facilitator is trained in Solution Focused Brief Therapy. However, the group’s primary focus is on parenting rather than traditional group therapy. It’s about supporting growth as a parent and equipping you with effective strategies to enhance your parenting approach. We will focus on what’s strong, rather than what’s wrong. Find out more about Solution Focused Approach here.

  • What if I miss a session?

We understand that parents have busy lives and plans can change. If you miss a session, your facilitator will catch you up during the next one. If you feel you’ve missed too many sessions, we can explore finding you a spot in the next group.

  • What if I am late or need to leave early?

No problem. Just let your facilitator know if you need to leave earlier. If you are late, just knock on the door and join us when you can.

  • Do I have to share my experiences or participate in activities I’m not comfortable with?

You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. If you prefer to simply listen, that’s completely fine. Together, we’ll establish a group agreement, and the facilitator will provide a variety of ways to help you achieve the best possible outcomes.

  • Can I send/bring another adult to attend the group for a session or two?

No, this isn’t possible. The group will be engaging in an intensive process together, and it’s essential to maintain a safe and consistent environment where all members feel comfortable. Allowing someone new to join midway could disrupt the trust and dynamic of the group. Additionally, the sessions are tailored to your personal parenting journey, so having someone else attend wouldn’t provide the same benefit or continuity for you. If you’re unable to attend certain sessions, the facilitator will help you catch up as needed. This does not apply for your children that may come along with you (see t&c’s).

  • What’s the venue like?

Mycenae House and our room are baby and child friendly. There are baby changing facilities. Our room is spacious, bright and will include chairs, play mats and toys for little ones. There is a buggy park outside Mycenae House. We will always let you know more about your venue and each session in advance after you’ve registered.

Can I join another group after 6 weeks, or will it be the same?

You’re welcome to continue your parenting journey in the next group after the 6-week session ends. Each group will have new participants, hopes, and goals, offering a completely fresh and unique experience.
